Dan Rockhill

Principal of the Kansas-based Rockhilll + Associates, Dan Rockhill’s practice is deeply rooted in the local landscape of the area. Known for his ability to fuse contemporary architecture with the vernacular style of the region, Rockhill has worked on a number of historic preservation projects and embraced prefabricated building in his residential architecture. Rockhill is professor of architecture at the University of Kansas, where he directs Studio 804, Inc., a graduate design studio that builds affordable, prefab housing in neglected inner city neighborhoods. In both roles, Rockhill has been dedicated to sustainable, modestly-scaled building, creating structures that connect the inhabitant with their environment.
