Tsao & McKown Architects

Founded in 1985, the New York-based architecture and interior design practice of Calvin Tsao and Zack McKown creates clean, modern spaces for residential, commercial, and civic clients. Known for their fully-integrated designs and attention to detail, the firm approaches each project with a sensitivity to its context. Their design and architecture commissions have included private residences in New York City and Singapore, international hotels and restaurants, museum and exhibition projects, retail spaces, and civic projects including a series of public school libraries in New York City. The firm’s projects include the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York; Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand; Metrazur Restaurant in New York’s Grand Central Station; and the Wall Street Cipriani Club and Residences in New York. Tsao & McKown were a 2006 finalist in this category.
