Karim Rashid

New York-based designer Karim Rashid has created a range of products for companies worldwide. Known for his work with plastics, foams and synthetic fabrics, Rashid applies a spare yet playful aesthetic to his designs and believes strongly in reaching a broad audience and inspiring a sense of well being through design. Rashid’s designs include Umbra’s highly successful Oh Chair and Garbino waste basket, the Dirt Devil KONE vacuum and packaging for Issey Miyake, Yves Saint Laurent, Estée Lauder, and Method. His products are included in a number of museum collections and he has lectured widely on industrial design.
