Based in Kansas City, Joseph Spear is one of the world's most influential ballpark designers. He is the founding senior principal of HOK Sport + Venue + Event. Spear’s body of work - including nine Major League Baseball parks - has made an impressive impact on how people enjoy the national pastime. From Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore to SBC Park (formerly Pacific Bell Park) in San Francisco, his venues have set a new standard of design for sports facilities. His work is focused on envisioning future Major League Baseball parks and safeguarding existing parks, like Chicago's Wrigley Field, with appropriate renovations. His designs illustrate each city's best features, and forge a bond between each community and its ballpark.
