Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum’s Limited Editions in Design—a benefit for National Design Council members—is pleased to announce this offer in conjunction with Design Life Now: National Design Triennial 2006 (on view through July 29, 2007). This exhibition features the best of American design of the last three years, showcasing many emerging designers including David Wiseman.
Wiseman’s work communicates an original vision for art, function, and form. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Wiseman has since returned home to Pasadena, California where he draws his inspiration from surrounding parks and gardens. His unique aesthetic is informed by his deep appreciation for subtleties in nature, such as the texture of bark or a pattern of moss growing on a rock. In his practice, Wiseman highlights these details, and brings his distinct perception of the wilderness to his objects. For the Triennial, Wiseman has brought spring to the Carnegie Mansion with an explosion of cheery blossoms in a canopy above a selection of his elegant and wonderfully modern vases.
Limited Editions in Design is proud to offer David Wiseman’s studio-produced Pomegranate Branch—currently on view in The Shop at Cooper-Hewitt—exclusively to National Design Council members at a special price for a limited time.
