2010 was a year to remember for Cooper-Hewitt Members. Check out the 10 Membership Moments in 2010 slideshow below.

Around town, Cooper-Hewitt Members were among the first to access fairs—from historic to contemporary design—New York Auto Show, ICFF, International Fine Art & Antiques Dealers Show, and IFPDA Print Fair.

Throughout the year, Members took a deeper look into the Museum’s exhibitions. A visit to Ted Muehling’s SoHo studio revealed the inspiration for Ted Muehling Selects: Lobmeyr Glass from the Permanent Collection. Members explored the design process behind works featured in National Design Triennial: Why Design Now? at the showrooms of Steelcase and Trove.

Cooper-Hewitt’s exclusive Design Watch group visited the studios of National Design Award honorees—typography titans Hoefler & Frere-Jones, Project Projects and WORKac on the Lower East Side, interaction design firm Local Projects, James Carpenter Design Associates whose works transform the public realm, Selldorf Architects known for their sensitivity to a location’s history, and Richard Meier & Partners Model Gallery in LIC.

Closing out the year, Design Watch Members from across the country convened for a spectacular trip to Miami for the Design Miami/ and Art Basel fairs.

Make design part of your New Year’s Resolutions. Join or renew today to take part in all that Cooper-Hewitt has to offer. Stay tuned in 2011 for studio visits, receptions, and more…
