The Royal College of Art and Innovation has posted a new video as part of their “Innovation Night” event. This year, guest speaker Chad Hurley, founder and CEO of YouTube.com talks about building one of the top ten web services in less than a year.

Chad Hurley studied Fine Art at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and in 2005 co-founded YouTube with Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, turning it into one of the world’s top ten web services within a year.
One billion video clips are now seen daily on YouTube, with 24 hours’ worth of content uploaded every minute. YouTube continues to innovate its business model and service to a global community, and has partnerships across the world including BBC, Channel 4 and Five. Chad has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, where he spoke in 2007, 2008 and 2009, most recently on ‘The Next Digital Experience‘.
Innovation Night is the RCA’s premier event for its senior business, research and public sector partners. Previous speakers include Apple’s Jonathan Ive, Sir James Dysonand Business Week’s Bruce Nussbaum.
Innovation Night takes place in the context of Show RCA, the annual degree show of graduating RCA students, including those from Design Products, Innovation Design Engineering, Textiles, Vehicle Design and Communication.
