As a curator focused on contemporary design, one of the things I seek out is trends. At this year’s Design Miami/, opening December 5th, one of many trends I’m already spotting is the unexpected. Designers are challenging our eye, whether through their material choices, forms, or program, confounding our expectations and resulting in moments of contemplative pause. Given our harried contemporary lifestyle in which we rarely find moments for reflection, I find these objects to be gifts, encouraging us to slow down and reconsider the familiar.
Join me for a stimulating romp through Design Miami/’s exhibitions as we contemplate such objects together and explore more exciting trends and highlights at the fair. Pre-purchase tickets for a tour on December 6th, 7th, or 8th at 12pm. Spots are limited!
