Biccio fillet, part of the Faked Meat series by Marije Vogelzang on view at the Food Culture exhibition.
Design and food continues to be an area of design practice garnering attention as it pushes at the boundaries of what we think of as traditional design. (Full discloser, I am organizing an exhibition on the subject.) Case in point: Design Miami/’s first BE OPEN Forum includes eating designer Marije Vogelzang on its roster. Vogelzang has engaged with food projects for over a decade and recently curated Food Culture, a thoughtful exhibition on view in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
So after romping with me on a guided tour of Design Miami/, take a break from the exhibitions to explore this important, timely subject and learn more about future directions in design.
