Diseño Lecture: Architectural Innovations with Ronald Rael

Ronald Rael joined us for our Diseño Lecture series to talk about his work with architectural design firm Rael San Fratello and Emerging Objects. He is a researcher, design activist, author, and thought leader in the fields of additive manufacturing and earthen architecture.
Following the lecture was a discussion with Patricio del Real, Assistant Professor of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University and co-curator of the exhibition Latin America in Construction: Architecture 1955-1980 at the Museum of Modern Art. Several works from Emerging Objects are on view now in The Senses: Design Beyond Vision.
This program received federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Latino Center.
