How to Donate Objects to Cooper Hewitt’s Collection
If you believe you have an item or items of interest, please send a detailed description to CHSDM_ObjectDonations@si.edu with clear photos, the name of the designer and maker if known, and any background information you can provide. We will direct your offer to the appropriate curatorial department, and after review a staff member will contact you regarding your object and if needed, further actions in the donation process. Please note: Cooper Hewitt does not accept unsolicited donations either by mail or delivered in person. Unsolicited donations may be disposed of, returned, or retained at the sole discretion of Cooper Hewitt. The museum does not consider offers of temporary loans, nor can we promise to display donated items immediately.
