Studio Tour with Naeem Khan
Join us for a studio tour with Naeem Khan, a New York City-based fashion designer and winner of the 2023 National Design Award for Fashion Design. Naeem Khan launched his eponymous collection in 2003. He was born and raised in India surrounded by the beauty of its culture, architecture, history, and design. These influences helped cultivate his vast knowledge of textiles.
Khan is known for the exquisite hand-embroidery in his work, crafted by artisans in his family-owned factory founded by his grandfather decades ago. As a teenager, Khan moved to the United States and apprenticed for Halston, where he absorbed the ethos of modernism, and the secrets of draping and cutting fabric to create clean, elegant, and timeless silhouettes. More recently, his focus is to create clothing that embodies beauty, glamour, and femininity while purposefully evolving his vision in the world of fashion.
During the visit, meet Khan and others from the studio’s team who will share about the history of their practice, the techniques and values of their work, and details of his work in keeping the tradition and craft of making clothes by hand. Attendees will get a tour of the studio and office space, getting to see the garments and techniques that are critical to Khan’s practice.

- Format: This program will include a brief presentation followed by the opportunity to explore the studio space and talk to Naeem Khan and his studio staff.
- About the space: This program will take place offsite at the studio of Naeem Khan, located in the Garment District of Manhattan. To access the studio, after entering the building there are four small steps that bring you to elevator access. The nearest subway station is 34 St – Penn Station (A, C, E or 1, 2, 3), within a 5-minute walk to the studio. The exact address will be sent to registered attendees before the event.
