African Design Series
A collaborative program with The Africa Center and the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum.
In this 3 day workshop, collaborate with Araba Simpson, Principal and Creative Director of Asenya, a multi-disciplinary design studio located in Harlem specializing in graphic design and home furnishings.
Develop product designs inspired by Araba’s work with African symbols known as Adinkra.
Some of Araba’s design clients include: The Apollo Theater, The Metropolitan Opera, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. She is native of Ghana, West Africa where she continues to work with local artisans to produce one of a kind fabrics for her work.
