What is L’ECOLE?
From June 4 to 18, 2015, Van Cleef & Arpels transports the exceptional world of jewelry and watchmaking from their classrooms in Paris to Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. With twelve courses for adults and two family workshops, L’Ecole provides an immersive experience in an intimate classroom environment. Explore the history, culture, and savoir-faire of jewelry arts, including a guide through the step-by-step process of creating jewelry and assembling a mechanical watch, a hands-on tutorial on types of precious stones, and the history of jewelry from origins as far back as the ancient Greeks and Romans.
